Where it all began
Born in Zurich, studied mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, and earned his doctorate in Sydney – Roland always followed an unconventional career and life path! A Swiss entrepreneur who wanted to see the world and realize ideas. Engineering and manufacturing shaped his path. Making his knowledge and experience with producers in Asia accessible to international customers formed the foundation of Vela Eurasia.
2004, south of Shanghai. Small water towns, dusty workshops – but full of opportunities.
Roland traveled to China with one of his first customers. No plan, no network. Just openness, technical curiosity – and the feeling: Something could happen here.

2005 – a typical workshop in southern China. Men and women operate the simplest machines. Here, they turned, pressed, deburred, and ground—with full concentration and a lot of noise.

2006 – our first assembly production – pure handwork – no assembly instructions – completely silent! Only people with precision, perseverance, and responsibility.
Today – grounded and looking ahead
Today, we work in Europe and Asia – with customers who rely on trust and technology.
But we've remained what we were: a team that listens, thinks along, and delivers.
